Big Five Asia 5 Oz Tiger - High Relief
A unique silver coin issued by the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire for 2021, minted from the purest 99.9% silver and weighing 5 Oz (155.5 g), is part of the new Big Five Asia series. The first representative of the "Big Five Asia" is the tiger.
The reverse of the coin features a detailed tiger head. The portrait is highlighted by the high relief processing technology and antique design. The description includes the weight "5 OZ" .999 AG", the logo of the engraving workshop "P. De Greef", the year of issue "2021" and the maker's mark.
The tiger (Panthera tigris) is the largest living felid in the world. The most abundant species is the Indian/Bengal tiger, which seeks out forested areas in India, Bangladesh and Nepal. Individuals live solitary lives in their own territory, which can be up to 50 sq km. Males leave it only for breeding, when they circle around to find a suitable female. Although tigers are forest carnivores, they do not climb trees like other cats. Their striped fur makes them excellent camouflage during hunting. They approach their prey through tall grass and attack by leaping, then bite through the throat or break the neck at the back of the neck.
The obverse shows the national emblem of Côte d'Ivoire with the inscriptions "REPUBLIQUE DE COTE D'IVOIRE", the year of issue "2021" and the denomination "5000 FRANCS CFA". The edge of the coin is numbered.
The coin comes in a luxury bamboo gift box along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 999 pieces for the whole world!
