Detailed description

The reverse side of the bicrown depicts a cut plate made of lead crystal, in which the school emblem with the texts "Střední uměleckýprůmyslová škola skloárská", "ŽELEZNÝ BROD" and "1920-2020" is embedded. The initials of the author of the coin Luboš Charvát, which are formed by the interconnected letters "L" and "Ch", are placed in the middle of the emblem.

On the obverse side of the bicentenary, a cut lead crystal plate is again depicted, in which a fragment of the school's entrance portal is embedded. The denomination with the abbreviation of the monetary unit '200 CZK' and the text 'CZECH REPUBLIC' are located inside the fragment of the entrance portal. The mark of the Czech Mint, consisting of the letters 'Č' and 'M', is placed at the left edge of the coin.

SUPŠ glass school in Železný Brod

In the Czech Republic, vocational glass education has a nearly 100-year tradition and is of fundamental importance for glass production and artistic culture. The entire system of secondary schools of arts and crafts and vocational schools, which includes not only glass schools but also jewellery, ceramics, textile and graphic schools, is unique and, following the Czech Republic's accession to the European Union, can be one of its contributions of considerable importance.

In 1922, an exhibition of the glass industry was held in Železný Brod, which led to the need to build a glass school building. The main credit for the construction went to prof. arch. Alois Metelák. The school building was inaugurated in 1926, the school itself has been in operation since 1920 and is the oldest and largest Czech glass school.

Each silver coin is stored in a protective plastic capsule and placed in a dark blue box along with a certificate of authenticity from the CNB.
