Institutions of the Czech Republic - Supreme State Prosecutor's Office
The reverse side of the coin bears the logo of the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office in a square frame in its centre, above which are the symbols of a scale and a sword. Below the frame are the stylised initials of the designer, sculptor Zbyněk Fojtů. The description of the coin reads 'SUPREME STATE PROSECUTORATE'.
On the obverse side, the frame contains a composition of heraldic animals of the Czech Republic. The year of issue '2024' is placed on the lower side. The inscription "CZECH REPUBLIC" and the face value "100 CZK" are placed in the circle of the coin.
The Supreme State Prosecutor's Office with its seat in Brno was established on 1 January 1994. In accordance with the law, it represents the organisational state unit for control and management of the activities of the system of state prosecutors' offices of the Czech Republic. It represents the prosecution in criminal appeals before the Supreme Court. It deals with complaints and at the same time itself searches for cases with suspected violations of the law in criminal cases. It is empowered to issue an order for inspection of a case already closed.
In both criminal and non-criminal matters, it provides interpretations of laws and regulations with specific recommendations for their application. It publishes its findings in the Collection of Judicial Decisions and Opinions in order to serve as a basis for a uniform interpretation of the law in other contentious cases.
The Supreme State Prosecutor's Office is empowered to annul decisions of lower prosecutors as unlawful and to reopen proceedings in the matter of prosecution, referral of a case or failure to prosecute a suspect.
The coin includes a paper certificate of authenticity from the Czech National Bank.
