Silver Commemorative Coin

RAZITKO_POSTOVNE_ZDARMA_NENI

Albert Einstein in a photograph by Yousuf Karsh

An exclusive silver coin minted by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2015, in absolute purity of 99.99% purest silver weighing 10 Oz, issued to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Special Theory of Relativity, published in 1905 by one of the most important scientists of all time - Albert Einstein.

The reverse of the coin depicts a reproduction of the original portrait of Albert Einstein taken by one of the most famous portrait photographers, Yousuf Karsh, in 1948. The motif is accompanied by Einstein's breakthrough formula "E = mc2" and the circle is decorated with the inscriptions "CANADA", the year of issue and the face value. The obverse features a traditional portrait of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt surrounded by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II" and "D.G. REGINA".

The coin comes in a luxury wooden box along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 1,500 pieces for the entire world.

Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein (March 14, 1879 Ulm, Germany - April 18, 1955 Princeton, New Jersey, USA) was a theoretical physicist and one of the most important scientists of all time. He is often referred to as the greatest scientist of the 20th century, or, along with Newton, the most important physicist of all time. His contributions to physics include the special theory of relativity (1905), the idea of quantization of the electromagnetic field and the explanation of the photoeffect (1905), the explanation of Brownian motion (1905), and perhaps most notably the general theory of relativity (1915), which is the best description of the universe on large scales to date. Einstein also contributed to statistical physics and quantum statistics (the Bose-Einstein distribution), the debate over the interpretation of quantum mechanics (the debate with Bohr, the EPR paradox). With Leó Szilárd, they invented a new type of refrigerator.

In 1921, Einstein was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his "explanation of the photoeffect and for his contributions to theoretical physics". Of course, his other three papers from 1905 were already very important, but first of all Einstein's general theory of relativity from 1915, still unappreciated at the time of the award.

After formulating general relativity, he became known worldwide, an unprecedented achievement for a scientist. In later years, his fame eclipsed that of other scientists, and Einstein became synonymous with a man of very high intelligence, or in short, a genius. His face became one of the most famous in the world. In 1999, Time magazine selected him as the Person of the Century. His popularity often led to the use of his name in advertising and commerce and even to the registration of the trademark Albert Einstein.stribrna_mince_einstein_specialni_teorie_relativity_10oz_2015_proofThe photochemical unit einstein, the chemical element einsteinium and the planet 2001 Einstein were named in his honour.

General relativity and special relativity

General relativity can also be seen as an extension of special relativity. The older theory provides a correct description of the electrodynamics and propagation of light in inertial frames of reference and corrects inaccuracies of Newtonian mechanics at high speeds. Moreover, general relativity plays a unique role among physical theories in that it interprets the gravitational field as a geometrical phenomenon. More precisely, it assumes that any object with its own mass curves the spacetime in which it is located, and this curvature manifests itself as gravity. To understand this equality, it is not helpful to consider that gravity causes or is caused by the curvature of spacetime, but rather that gravity is the curvature of spacetime. The theory has survived all experiments attempting to disprove it since its formulation in 1915 to the present day.
