Jan Železný

Born on 16 June 1966 in Mladá Boleslav, Jan Železný is considered the best javelin thrower of all time. He is the holder of three gold (1992, 1996, 2000) and one silver medal from the Olympic Games (1988), a three-time world champion (1993, 1995, 2001), a multiple record holder and the current world record holder in the javelin throw from 1996 (98.48 metres). Since the introduction of the new rules, the javelin has been thrown over 90 metres 83 times.

Jaromír Jágr

Born on February 15, 1972 in Kladno, Czech ice hockey player in the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He plays as a right winger. He is the second best active hockey player in goals, assists and points and is considered one of the best hockey players of all time.

Martin Doktor

Born on 21 May 1974 in Polička, Czech speed canoeist, double Olympic champion at the 1996 Atlanta Games.The following year he won gold in the 500m and two silver medals (200m and 500m) at the World Championships in Dartmouth, Canada. The Doctor also became world champion in Segedin in 1998 in the non-Olympic 200m race. In total, he won eleven medals at the World Championships (two gold, nine silver and three bronze).

Kateřina Neumannová

Born on February 15, 1973 in Písek, Czech cross-country skier and biker, Olympic champion and world champion in cross-country skiing. She is currently the President of the Organizing Committee of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009.
