Detailed description
Entry of the Czech Republic into the European Union
The face of the coin has the face value of the coin in the gold centre with the abbreviation of the monetary unit in a circle of 12 stars of the European Union. On the intercircle, near the upper edge, there is a description of the name of the state and below it a loose grouping of heraldic animals from the state emblem. In an unenclosed circle in the remaining part of the intercircle are the family and state emblems corresponding to the development of Czech statehood. The depiction is complemented by the mint mark.
On the reverse side, the date '1 May 2004' appears in the golden centre between five-pointed stars, the date 'Czech Republic joins the European Union' appears on the lower edge of the intercircle, and the remaining part of the intercircle bears a three-line unenclosed inscription 'Czech Republic joins the European Union' and 17 important years of Czech history. Above the golden centre, the initials of the author of the coin design are in the upper centre of the intercircle.
Each silver coin is stored in a protective plastic capsule and placed in a dark blue box along with a certificate of authenticity from the CNB.
