Limited Edition - Canadian Native cultures and traditions 1997 - 2000

A rare set of four gold coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2000 and minted between 1997 and 2000 in the Native cultures and traditions series, weighing 1/2 ounce (15.552 g) of the finest proof quality gold, and dedicated to the art of Canada's First Nations.sada_zlatych_minci_puvodni_kultury_kanady_1997_2000_proof

The 1997 coin depicts the "Haida Raven Bringing Light to the World" sun mask. For 1998, the buffalo motif was chosen to symbolize the healing of Mother Earth, "Legend of the White Buffalo". 1999 depicts a butterfly in traditional Mi'kmaq art, symbolizing the balance between the physical and spiritual worlds, "Mikmaq Butterfly". A 2000 coin entitled "Arctic warmth" completes the set. The depiction of an Eskimo woman with a child symbolizes maternal love. The motifs are complemented by the initials of the authors. The obverse of each coin shows the face value of "200 dollars", the year of issue, the inscriptions "CANADA", "ELIZABETH II" and the traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Dora de Pédery-Hunt.

The coins come in a deluxe hand-carved box along with a numbered certificate of authenticity for each coin in a limited edition of only 6,510 pieces for the entire world!
