Detailed description
Famous Golden American Eagle - Indian Head
A unique set of three Indian Head gold coins minted by the U.S. Mint between 1907 and 1933 in the denominations of $2.5, $5, and $10, in pure gold.
The obverse of the two smaller coins, designed by B.L. Pratt, depicts a realistic design of an Indian head wearing a feather headdress, with the year of issue placed below the head, with 13 stars and the motto "LIBERTY" forming a circle around the design. The obverse of the $10 coin, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens at the behest of President Theodore Roosevelt, depicts a bust of a man wearing an Indian headdress bearing the inscription "LIBERTY". As on the other coins, there are 13 stars above the man and the year of issue below. The reverse side of all coins shows an eagle in a peaceful pose, standing on an arrow and holding an olive branch, symbolizing preparedness and peace. Through judicious sizing and placement, B.L. Pratt was able to incorporate four different inscriptions ("UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM", "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the denomination) into the design without causing imbalance, clutter or crowding.
The coins come in a deluxe wooden case that is inserted into a brown leather Indian bag along with a certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 1000 sets for the entire world!
