Motifs on gold bars
Brazil 1693
The first real gold rush took place in the 17th century in eastern Brazil (Minas Gerais region). It was a very atypical rush that started quite slowly and lasted much longer than other rushes, around 50 years.
Siberia 1838 - 1839
Not surprisingly, Russia was discovering many gold veins due to the expansion of its territory. From 1838 to 1839, a new gold rush took place along the Yenisei River in Siberia.
California 1848 - 1849
The world's most famous gold discovery kicked off the California Gold Rush on January 24, 1848 by James W. Marshall (Sutter's Mill in Coloma, California), which brought more than 300,000 gold miners from the U.S. and abroad.
Australia 1851, 1892, 1893
Although less well-known than the others, the Australia rush is historically significant for the discovery of nuggets weighing up to 66 kg.
Black Hills, South Dakota 1876
The Black Hills gold rush in Dakota began in 1874 and peaked in 1876-1877. Some documents point to gold discoveries in the Black Hills in the early 18th century.
Alaska 1896
Perhaps the most famous gold rush, known as the Klondike or Yukon gold rush, took place in Canada after gold was discovered there in the late 19th century.
Legendary gold rush in the world
From the time of the 4th to the 5th millennium BC, mankind identified gold as an exceptional metal and placed it above all other precious metals. It has earned its special status thanks to its extraordinary beauty, its colour like the sun, its malleability and its incredible ability to resist corrosion. All of this has led to the production of coins, beautiful jewellery or amazing objects of art that have contributed to the building of nations, civilisations and cultures.
It is also no surprise that it was the discovery of gold mines that caused great friction and frenzied reactions not only from governments desperate to fill their coffers, but also from those who simply wanted to get rich. In the gradual discovery of gold veins, people sacrificed absolutely everything, often their own lives, all for a small amount of this precious metal. Entire cities fell into this fever, literally crushing men and women both mentally and physically in an attempt to achieve the success of other cities that had built their existence on gold.
This exclusive collection of gold bullion is dedicated to this precious metal and the people who caused the gold rush and contributed to the immense value, uniqueness and legend that is gold.
