Gold Maplegram25
The Royal Canadian Mint has been minting Maple Leaf investment coins since 1979. The coin was designed by Walter Ott. The gold coins contain no other metals, only pure 99.99% gold mined from gold mines in Canada.
The Maplegram contains 25 Maple Leaf coins (symbolizing the 25th anniversary of the first issue), each weighing 1 g, encased in plastic packaging with a unique serial number on the reverse and inserted into a blister pack. The coins in the packaging can be individually separated from each other.
The reverse sides traditionally bear the symbol of Canada, the maple leaf, on their reverse. Inscriptions on the coin: "CANADA", "FINE GOLD", "weight g OR PUR" and fineness.
All coins feature the traditional portrait of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt on the obverse with the inscription "ELIZABETH II", year of issue and denomination.
