Somalia - African Wilderness - Leopard 2024
The very popular gold investment coins are issued by the Republic of Somalia for the year 2024 in the finest 99.99% pure gold, weighing 1 Oz (31.1 g). The leopard motif has been released since 2018 and is part of the African Wildlife series, minted by the Bavarian Mint in Munich (Das Bayerische Hauptmünzamt Mint) with a tradition of more than 800 years (est. 1158).
The reverse side of the coin depicts an adult leopard with a cub on a rocky peak. The pair of beasts is an image of the mother's careful nurturing and the first steps towards independence of her offspring. The inscriptions "AFRICAN WILDLIFE", "LEOPARD" and "1oz Au 999.9" complete the circle.
The obverse side of the coin bears the national emblem of the Republic of Somalia - two heraldic leopards supporting a shield depicting a five-pointed star. On the sides of the emblem is the year of issue divided into tens. The inscription 'SOMALI REPUBLIC' appears in the upper part of the coin field and the face value at the lower edge.
