The third and final gold coin issued by the Bank of New Zealand in 2011 in the Icons of New Zealand series and minted by the German mint BH Mayer's Kunstprageanstalt in top proof quality, weighing 1/4 troy ounce (7.78g) in purity of the purest 99.99% gold, is dedicated to the flora and fauna that symbolizes New Zealand.
The reverse of the coin shows an almost 3D relief of the symbols of New Zealand: the Kiwi bird and the silver fern. Below the motif is the face value. The obverse shows a traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The inscriptions "NEW ZEALAND", "ELIZABETH II", the year of issue and the initials of the author follow.
The coin comes in a gift case along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 955 pieces for the entire world!
