An exclusive gold coin issued by the Australian Perth Mint for 2022 and minted in the finest 99.99% pure gold with a weight of 1 Oz (31.1 g) in Proof quality, this coin draws on Chinese mythology and features the dragon as a symbol of prosperity, wealth and power.
The reverse depicts the traditional form of the Chinese dragon with a pearl so that its long body forms two interlocking figure eights. The stylishly clean design is complemented by the year of issue "2022", the weight and purity of the metal and the mint mark "P".
Eight is the luckiest number associated with success and prosperity in Chinese culture. The pronunciation of the number 八 'ba' sounds similar to the words "發", meaning "to prosper". The mythological dragon occupies the highest place in the hierarchy of sacred animals.
