The village of Lenora is located in the foothills of the Sumava Mountains near the towns of Vimperk and Prachatice. Its history goes back deep into the past and is mainly connected with the production of glass products. The glassworks started operating here as early as 1834 and gained its name throughout Europe. Visitors can therefore at least visit the local glass museum with a permanent exhibition devoted to the aforementioned glass industry. However, what still attracts visitors to these parts is an important technical monument from the first half of the 19th century, namely the wooden bridge, also known as the 'rechle' or 'rachle'. This term comes from the German language and translates as 'rake'. In the past, the wooden footbridge was mainly used to control driftwood and logs. The bridge, made up of several massive beams, is 25 metres long and is located a full 3 metres above the surface of the Vltava River. The wooden bridge is located on the left, just outside the village, on the road to Volary. Due to its preserved condition and the function that the "rechle" fulfilled in the past, it is considered to be a valuable and unique technical monument, bringing visitors closer to the history of wood sailing on the Vltava River and the life of the local population.
