On the reverse side of the coin is a collage of the most important architectural monuments of the Litoměřice Municipal Monument Reserve, from the left the Baroque house at Mírové náměstí 21/13, the Gothic town tower at All Saints Church, the Renaissance house Pod Bání, nowadays also called Kalich House or U Kalicha House, with a tower in the shape of a wine goblet at Mírové náměstí 15/7, the Renaissance building of the old town hall at Mírové náměstí 171/40 and the classical house at Mírové náměstí 19/11. At the bottom edge of the coin is the text "LITOMĚŘICE CITY" and the year of mintage "2022". The initials of the author of the coin, Lenka Nebeska, DiS., which are formed by the composition of the letters "L" and "N", are located at the upper edge of the coin.

On the obverse side, the heraldic animals from the great state emblem are depicted in the upper part of the coin, namely the Czech lion on the top, the Moravian eagle on the left and the Silesian eagle on the right. At the upper edge of the coin, the text 'MĚSTSKÉ PAMÁČKOVÉ REZERVACE' is in the description, below which there is an unsealed circle. The lower part of the coin depicts partial facades and gables of Baroque and Classical houses. The text 'CZECH REPUBLIC' and the denomination of the coin with the abbreviation of the monetary unit '5 000 CZK' are located at the bottom edge of the coin.

The oldest remains of the permanent settlement of Litoměřice date back to the Stone Age. The fertile area was gradually inhabited by the Germans and Celts, who were subsequently replaced by Slavic tribes.
The rise of one of the oldest Czech towns was preceded by a medieval fortress under the administration of the Přemyslids. On the Dómský hill, it included the Church of St. Stephen, which was built in 1057 as part of the Litoměřice chapter. The royal town of Litoměřice was founded between 1219 and 1228 and became an important political, economic and cultural centre. Franciscans and Dominicans established their monasteries here.

Wooden houses are replaced by Gothic stone buildings. The houses preserved from this period are now among the oldest in the Czech Republic. During the reigns of John of Luxembourg and Charles IV, the fortified town grew eastwards and vineyards were established on Radobýl Hill.

In the 16th century, wealthy townspeople built new exhibition houses. The Italian architect Ambrosio Balli was behind the Renaissance restoration of the town. For the esteemed Mráz family from Milešovka, he creates the Kalich House on Mírové Square, rebuilt between 1570 and 1580. The townhouse, which is distinguished by its viewing terrace and the chalice-shaped tower on the roof, becomes a symbol of the town. The House of the Black Eagle by the same architect retains its sgraffito decoration to this day. The old town hall, destroyed by fire, has been restored in the Saxon Renaissance style with Gothic elements and now serves as the Regional Museum.

During the Thirty Years' War the town suffered great damage and many buildings were destroyed. The restoration of the town in the Baroque style from the mid-17th century is the work of Italian-born builders Giulio Broggio and his son Octavio. Their names are associated with a number of religious buildings. These include the Church of All Saints, the Church of the Annunciation, St. Wenceslas Church and the Jesuit College. Octavio Broggio is also the author of one of the most beautiful townhouses of the Baroque period. It is the two-storey house At the Five Virgins in Mírovo Square with rich stucco decoration and a volute gable.
The Italian builder and architect Domenico Orsi was called from Prague to build the newly founded St. Stephen's Cathedral on the site of the original church on Dome Square. The grounds of the Litoměřice Cathedral Chapter are complemented by the bishop's residence and the canon's houses.

In the 19th century, the city lost its city towers and part of its Gothic walls. A preserved section of the fortifications, 1800 m long, forms the boundaries of the historic centre, which was declared a City Conservation Reserve in 1978.
