5 Oz Gold Coin with Pearl - Year of the Mouse 2020
After the huge success of the silver and gold coins with mother of pearl released in previous years, another unique gold coin with mother of pearl is released for 2020, dedicated to the Chinese lunar cycle - the Year of the Mouse.
Issued by the State of Cook Islands, this five-ounce coin (155.5 g) is minted in 2019 in the purest 99.9% gold purity and features a genuine mother-of-pearl inner core.
The pearlescent core in a blue hue on its reverse depicts a frontal view of a mouse in a rural landscape. The background of the main motif is a meadow and a gnarled tree standing on the horizon. The outer golden circle bears the inscriptions "YEAR OF THE RAT" and "2020".
The obverse features a traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain by Ian-Rank Broadley and the inscriptions 'ELIZABETH II', 'COOK ISLAND', the artist's initials 'IRB', the denomination and weight and fineness information.
The coin is encased in its original cut glass presentation plate and comes in a deluxe gift case along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 25 pieces for the entire world!
