5 Oz Gold Coin with Pearl - Year of the Monkey 2016
Following the huge success of the Titanic and Year of the Dragon silver bullion coins issued by the Fiji Islands and the Zepelin, Jules Verne - Nautilus, Mississippi Steamboat and Year of the Goat silver and gold bullion coins issued by the Cook Islands State, another bullion gold coin dedicated to the Chinese lunar cycle - the Year of the Monkey - is being released for 2016.
This five-ounce (155.5 g) Cook Islands-issued coin is minted in 99.9% purest gold and features a genuine mother-of-pearl inner core.
The inner mother-of-pearl circle on the reverse of the coin depicts the precise monkey family motif of the Chinese lunar calendar in a blue hue. The inscriptions on the outer gold circle are "YEAR OF THE MONKEY" and the denomination. The obverse shows a traditional portrait of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II by Ian-Rank Broadley and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "COOK ISLANDS", the year of issue and the artist's initials "IRB".
The coin is encased in its original cut glass presentation plate and comes in a luxury gift case along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in an extremely limited edition of only 25 pieces for the entire world!
