5 Oz Gold Coin with Pearl - Year of the Dog 2018
After the huge success of the gold and silver coins with mother of pearl released in previous years, another unique gold coin with mother of pearl is released for 2018, dedicated to the Chinese lunar cycle - the Year of the Dog.
This five-ounce coin (155.5 g) issued by the Solomon Islands State is minted in 2017 in the purest 99.9% gold purity and its inner core is made of real mother-of-pearl.
The mother-of-pearl core in a yellow-brown hue on its reverse depicts a precise motif of a dog lying in front of a house. Another portrait of a dog with a sincere gaze is incorporated into the design. The outer gold circle bears the inscriptions "YEAR OF THE DOG" and the denomination. The obverse features a traditional portrait of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II by Ian-Rank Broadley and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "SOLOMON ISLAND", "2018", the artist's initials "IRB" and the weight and purity of the gold.
The coin is encased in its original cut glass presentation plate and comes in an elegant gift case along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a very limited edition of only 25 pieces for the entire world!
