A unique gold coin, partially enamelled , issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2016 as the third in a series of three coins issued annually between 2014 and 2016 in a premium quality proof weight of 1 Kg in absolute purity of the purest 99.99% gold, is dedicated to the wildlife of Canada.
The coin features a detailed portrait of a Kermode bear on its reverse and its amber-brown eyes highlighted by enamel technique. The Kermode bear, also known as the Baribal white bear or "Spirit Bear", is a subspecies of the American black bear found in regions of central and northern Canada. The motif is accompanied by the inscription "CANADA" and the artist's initials "GL" are placed on the right. The obverse depicts a traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt with the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "D G REGINA", the denomination "2500 DOLLARS" and the year of issue.
The coin comes in a dark brown maple wood box along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in an extremely limited edition of only 10 pieces for the entire world!
