Harry Potter - HOGWARTS EXPRESS TICKET 2024
The gold coin in the shape of a train ticket, issued by the State of Samoa for 2024 and minted from the purest 99.9% gold weighing 0.5 g, is an exact replica of the ticket for platforms 9 and ¾ from the Harry Potter book series.
The coin is an officially licensed product of Wizarding World, co-owned by Warner Bros.
The reverse of the coin features faithful details of the original Hogwarts Express train ticket, including the start and destination stations, the name of Platform 9 and ¾, and the ticket number. The edges are decorative ornaments identical to the original.
Platforms 9 and ¾ are located at King's Cross station in London. It is hidden between the real platforms 9 and 10 to avoid the attention of Muggles. To get to the secret platform, students have to run through an apparent stone wall between these platforms. The Hogwarts Express, a scarlet-hued train powered by a steam locomotive, departs every September 1 at 11 a.m. and transports students safely to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Because teachers use the Hogwarts Express on a rare occasion, the only adults on the train are the engineer and the witch with a trolley of sweets containing a wide range of treats, such as Bertie's Beans a Thousand Different, Cauldron Cakes and Chocolate Frogs with a collector's card.
The obverse of the coin bears a portrait of King Charles III in its centre, surrounded by the inscriptions "CHARLES III", the country of origin "SAMOA", the year of issue "2024", the weight and purity of the metal and the face value "50 TALA". The background is decorated with radial rays and the edges with ornaments according to the original.
The coin comes in a stylish presentation frame and an acceptance letter from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which also serves as a certificate of authenticity. The mintage is limited to 9,750 pieces for the entire world!
