Hundred Silver Coin - Schooner Preussen

In the 20th Century Sailing Boats series, we recently offered you through our website - zlataky.cz - the Thomas W. Lawson and France II gold centennial coin, which has become a huge hit in the numismatic and investment world!

Now you can own these unique centennial coins in silver as well! The exclusive gold and silver centennial coins issued in the 20th Century Sailing Coins series are absolutely unique and you will be hard pressed to find their equivalent in the world!

Issued by the Cook Islands Treasury in 2008, the Preussen silver coin is struck in the finest proof quality silver and weighs an incredible 100 ounces or 3,110 grams. This exclusive coin comes from a series of six coins (Tall Ships of the 20th century) dedicated to the most famous sailing ships of the 20th century.

The following coins were issued in the 20th Century Sailing Ships series: the Norwegian - Christian Radich, the German - Preussen - Carl Laeisz, the German/Russian - Kruzenshtern - Adam Johann von Krusenstern, the Russian - Sedov - Georgyi Sedov, the American - Thomas W. Lawson and the French - France II - Victor Lagniel.

The reverse of the coin depicts the German pentacle, named after the German state and the Kingdom of Prussia, which was built in 1902 for the shipping company F. Laeisz. It was the only ship of its class in the world merchant fleet to carry six sails on each mast. Until 2000, the Preussen was the only five-masted ship of this type in the world! The famous sailing ship is accompanied by a portrait of the ship's owner - Carl Laeisz. The obverse shows the traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "COOK ISLANDS" and the face value.

The coin is housed in a thick plastic capsule that can be unscrewed and comes in a luxurious brown wooden lockable chest along with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a limited edition of only 400 pieces for the whole world!!! The coin also includes two illustrated booklets in English and Russian describing each individual sailing ship in the series.
