OZNAMENI_CESKA_MINCOVNADucat series of the Czech Republic 2016 Czech art set
Czech art is very important in the world. The Czech Mint has expressed this through the Ducat series, which pays tribute to four impressive works that we consider to be our national jewels: the poetic composition Máj by Karel Hynek Mácha, the opera Rusalka by Antonín Dvořák, the sculpture Záboj a Slavoj by Josef Václav Myslbek and the painting Trutnov from the Homeland cycle by Mikoláš Alš. Four important cultural monuments, four stunning medals representing a testament to the renowned Czech art and at the same time an exceptional investment opportunity. Artistically crafted gold in the form of a beautiful set in a limited edition of 100 pieces will certainly not wait long for its appreciation!
The author of all four coins is Jaroslav Bejvl, who has devoted his life to two directions of creation - artistic lamps and medals. His workshop has produced over 400 plaster models, many of which have been realised and awarded by the Czech National Bank. Bejvl's flair for composition and remarkable view of space have now given rise to other extraordinary medal jewels:
Karel Hynek Mácha - Máj (May)
The obverse bears a very impressive image of the saddened robber and father-figure Wilhelm contemplating his sad fate in the womb of the picturesque nature of May, also expressed by an excerpt from the book THE FARTH WAY I HAVE, THE DEADLY CALLING. The inscriptions tell the name of the author and the name of the work and the mintage - K. H. MÁCHA, MÁJ and DUKAT OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC.
Double Duke of the Czech Republic 2016 Antonín Dvořák - Rusalka
The emotional scene of a desperate water fairy lamenting her fate and unhappy love to the moon dominates the obverse of another unique medal together with a part of the musical notation of the world-famous Rusalka aria. The texts on the obverse are then introduced by A. DVOŘÁK, RUSALKA and the DOUBLE OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC.
Pětidukat ČR 2016 Josef Václav Myslbek - Záboj a Slavoj
The brave warriors of Zaboj and Slavoj, characters from Czech legends, in the sculptural work of Josef Václav Myslbek have been masterfully transferred by Jaroslav Bejvl to the obverse of the five-ducat with the texts J. V. MYSLBEK, ZÁBOJ A SLAVOJ and THE FIVE-DUCATES OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC.
Ten ducats of the Czech Republic 2016 Mikoláš Aleš - Cycle Homeland - Trutnov
The eighth of the lunettes from Mikoláš Ales' Homeland cycle, which decorates the foyer of the National Theatre, is entitled Trutnov. As a successful sculpture, it can also be found on the obverse of the last of the set of ducats together with the texts M. ALEŠ, VLAST - TRUTNOV and DECADES OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC.
The reverse of the four medals is common and consists of a thematic cross-section of all four works - a collage of a harp, a palette, sculptural tools and a book.
