American Eagle - Liberty - Platinum
American Eagle platinum coins are very popular among collectors and investors, especially in America. The coins were officially authorized by the U.S. Congress in 1996 and subsequently minted for the first time since 1997 in 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 ounce (31.1 g) weights of the purest 99.95% platinum.
The obverse features a portrait of the Statue of Liberty looking into the future along with the inscriptions "LIBERTY", "IN GOD WE TRUST", "E PLURIBUS UNUM" (One of Many) and the year of issue.
The reverse depicts a flying eagle against a sunset background with the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA .9995 PLATINUM (weight in oz)" and the denomination.
