The 24-carat gold bars, issued by the Austrian Münze Österreich and minted by the Swiss company PAMP SA, comply with the London Good Delivery Standard (LBMA) and are therefore accepted without any problems in all markets. The authenticity documents (mint logo, refinery logo, serial number, fineness, weight) are declared on the top of the bar. The back of the bar is clean without any inscriptions, except for the Kinebar bars. These bars have a holographic motif on the top and the authenticity information is embossed on the back of the bar.

Bars up to 100 g are sealed in a protective plastic bag, which also serves as a certificate of authenticity. Like the individual bar, this bag also contains all the important information confirming its authenticity, including the signature of a certified analyst. From 1991 to 2023, the bars bore the signature of Alessandro Ruffoni, and since his retirement in 2023, Simone Marsan has replaced him. Since mid-2025, when the Swiss refinery PAMP SA took over the minting of the bars, the bars have borne the signature of Ilarie Cereghetti.
For the 250 g, 500 g and 1000 g bars, this plastic packaging is no longer used and the bars do not come with a separate certificate.

The 1 g, 5 g and 10 g bars were produced until mid-2025 with a special holographic image of the famous Lipizzaner horse on the front, created using the Kinebar® technique (Kinegram® laser technology). From the second half of 2025, these bars will no longer be produced using the Kinebar® technique, as their production has been taken over by PAMP, which does not apply this technology.

Kinebar® is a globally unique security feature created using the Kinegram® technology developed by OVD Kinegram Corp. The kinegram image is made up of fine lines of varying depth and shape – when the angle of the incident light changes, it creates the effect of a moving motif. This high-tech security is embossed directly into the surface of the precious metal bar and provides protection against counterfeiting.

The Austrian Mint Münze Österreich is one of the oldest and most renowned mints in the world. Its history dates back to 1194, when it was founded thanks to the ransom for the captured English king Richard the Lionheart. Today it is best known for issuing investment coins of the Wiener Philharmoniker. The mint is a subsidiary of the Austrian National Bank, headquartered in Vienna, and is the only one with the right to mint currency.
