The Royal Mint - limited edition The Royal Celebration
The British Royal Mint is releasing a special edition of investment bars minted from 99.99% silver weighing 10 Oz. The bars are being issued in 2023 to celebrate the first anniversary of Charles III's accession to the throne in a limited edition of 6,000 pieces for the world.
The design of the ingot is based on a design by Thomas T. Docherty. The reverse side combines the Tudor crown of Charles III with heraldic figures and symbols of Great Britain. Together they represent a new era, unity and the rise of the next generation of the royal dynasty. The stylised Tudor crown is placed centrally and imaginatively above the level of the armorial shield. Classically quartered, the shield offers space for heraldic animals paired with national floral motifs - the crowned lion of England with the Tudor rose, the unicorn with the thistle of Scotland, the dragon of Wales with the leek and the moose with the Irish clover.
The obverse bears the royal cipher, which contains the interlocking letters 'C' and 'R', the 'R' defining the frame of the Roman numeral III. The meaning of Rex Charles III and the graphic concept is a unique mark belonging exclusively to the person of Charles III. The monogram is placed beneath the heraldic representation of the Tudor crown, which the king associated with his regal majesty. The Royal Mint logo is the guarantor of the coinage and the weight and purity of the metal.
